Used equipment imports require specific technical defense

Without technical structuring

  • Commercial commitment before verifying legal viability
  • Equipment acquired without age-limit check by NCM
  • Operational origin documentation absent or inadequate
  • No pre-shipment technical report, generating clearance retention
  • Inspection without grounded technical defense

With Aduana Prime structuring

  • Prior viability analysis before commercial commitment
  • Technical verification of age-limit by NCM category
  • Operational origin documentation organized
  • Pre-shipment inspection report compliant with requirements
  • Grounded technical defense in physical inspection channel
Assess operation viability

Three steps. Clear outcome.

About Used Equipment Imports

Can I import any used equipment?
No. Used equipment imports have age restrictions (vary by NCM category), origin requirements (must come from real operation), mandatory technical inspection and prior licensing. Viability analysis is the first step — many cases are unfeasible early on due to these restrictions.
What's the equipment age limit?
Varies by NCM category. There are categories with 10-year limit, others with 15, others without explicit limit. Analysis depends on classification, origin and technical purpose. We do this assessment in viability analysis.
Is technical inspection needed?
Yes, for most categories. Pre-shipment inspection in country of origin, with technical report attesting equipment condition, operational origin and required specifications. Inspection is part of the licensing process.
Can the Federal Revenue inspect at clearance?
Yes, used equipment imports have high probability of physical channel (red). We defend the operation technically: complete documentation, technical reports, operational use justifications, alignment with previously granted licensing.
How long does the licensing process take?
Between 30 and 90 days from filing to approval, depending on complexity, country of origin and consenting agencies involved in licensing. Cases with strategically prepared documentation are faster.
Can used equipment come in Temporary Admission?
Yes. For events, tests, demonstrations or temporary economic use. Temporary Admission has different requirements than definitive import — we structure both depending on operation profile.
Who conducts the operation?
The three senior partners: Vivian Dollinger (Operations and Technical Execution), Julio (Strategy, Viability and Costs) and Paulo (Institutional Management). You speak with a senior partner, not with a junior analyst.

Technical transparency before any commitment

We assess import viability preliminarily before you close any commercial commitment with the seller. If we identify legal restriction or technical unfeasibility, we tell you with clarity — and indicate alternatives, when they exist.
